Christmas at Forte Kitchen 2015
Christmas in Winchester is truly magical and we are very excited for our first Christmas as the Forte Kitchen.
Olly has been working hard on this year’s Christmas menu. Naturally he found the creative process somewhat harder right at the start, and spent a lot of time staring at a blank piece of paper. So, he turned to the team for inspiration, asking everyone what their favourite Christmas dish is. Once he got us started we couldn’t stop and hopefully we helped him a bit, although I’m not sure how inspiring pigs in blankets was for him!
Needless to say Olly has created a mouth-watering Christmas menu using local and seasonal produce and something for everyone. Take a look at the Forte Christmas offering below.

From 26 November until the 23 December
Christmas Menu available;
Monday – Friday 12pm-3pm
Thursday –Saturday 6.30pm -9.30pm
Roasted cauliflower soup, smoked bacon, lyburn gold
Cured salmon, beetroot, smoked cream cheese, sourdough croutons
Ham hock scotch egg, frisse salad, sweet mustard sabayon
Grilled chicory, blue vinney, pear and sticky walnut salad
Stuffed and rolled roast turkey, Christmas trimmings
Slow cooked Hampshire beef short rib, truffle mash, savoy, beef sauce, gremolata
Herb crusted hake, brown shrimp and caper butter, kale, celeriac
Mushroom and goats cheese croquettes, king brown, quail egg, pickled shallots, watercress
Apple, cinnamon and golden sultana cake, calvados, toffee sauce, apple sorbet
Cherry and almond trifle, cherry jam doughnuts
Dark chocolate mousse, clementine, whipped cream, biscotti
Local cheese selection, beer and shallot chutney, water biscuits
